about us
In early 2010, Amy Malpass had a vision of a beautiful, thoughtful and memorable fundraiser, which would bring together some of Australia's most inspiring and influential individuals, to celebrate the wonderful initiative that is Lifehouse at RPA. Only a few weeks later, the vision was made a reality, and A Night on the Green was born.
A Night on the Green is the combined effort of a group of passionate, young, Sydney professionals, who are committed to the vision of Lifehouse at RPA. Like most Australians, we have all had our lives touched by the experience of cancer, and that is why we are so dedicated to raising funds for this important treatment centre. We firmly believe that innovation can only be achieved through the full support of community, business and individuals. A Night on the Green is our vision for how these groups can connect to make Lifehouse at RPA a reality.
Here's some more information about us.
Amy Malpass - General Manager and Founder of A Night on the Green
Amy works as a Marketing Manager, and has held roles at leading corporations across Australia and the globe. She holds a degree in Journalism from UTS, and has a background in magazine writing, communications and marketing. Amy is passionate about making a difference, and enjoys combining her love of events and writing with the opportunity to inspire people and help those in need. In her spare time, Amy loves eating, visiting restaurants, reading cookbooks, cooking, catering, scowering food stores, and becoming increasingly obsessed with food. Amy would love to speak to you (particularly over a meal) and can be reached at amy_nightonthegreen.com.
Ally Malpass - Venue Manager and Graphic Designer
Ally is currently studying a Bachelor of Design majoring in Fashion and Textiles Design combined with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at the University of Technology Sydney. She wishes to pursue a career in either styling or fashion design, and also has a great passion for both photography and film editing. She holds Lifehouse at RPA close to her heart, and has completed both graphic design and venue management for A Night on the Green. Feel free to contact her at ally_nightonthegreen.com.
Kate Alexander
Kate is a communications professional who currently works at an international law firm (but don't hold that against her!). She specialises in both internal and external communications, including media relations. Her passion for communications also extends to her social life, where her number one past time is chatting with friends over good food and a G&T. When Kate's not gasbagging with friends, she's giving back to the community by volunteering at a number of charities including medical, human rights and animal welfare organisations. Kate enjoys travelling to obscure and wonderful places, and is currently planning a trip to Africa to conquer Mt Kilimanjaro.
You can contact Kate at kate_nightonthegreen.com
Karla Arnall - Event Manager
Karla works in advertising. A Night On The Green is her opportunity to make it up to the world.
Emma Charters - Organising Committee
Emma is a Speech Pathologist and has been working at Liverpool Hospital since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2007. She loves to traverse the globe and hasn’t said no to an adventure proposal yet, with a particular passion for contributing to health care in developing countries. Lifehouse is an inspiring concept which brings the many disciplines in health care together, and as such, she is chuffed to be involved. Emma would love to talk about any explorations, in Sydney or beyond, anytime and can be contacted at emma_nightonthegreen.com
Scott Hahn - Finance Manager
By day, Scott works as an auditor for the world's leading accounting firm. However, given Scott's vivacious personality and exemplary social skills, he finds the title of "auditor" to be a little stifling, and instead likes to refer to himself as a "business consultant." When he is not consulting businesses, Scott enjoys tasting beer, spending time with his family, friends and love of his life - Amy, and watching the History Channel to increase his knowledge of Obama (both Bin Laden and Barack). Scott can be reached at scott_nightonthegreen.com.
Nadia Karim - Entertainment Manager
Nadia currently works as a Lawyer in the American Express legal department. She also has a background and interest in theatre production, and most notably worked on the hit musical, Wicked. Nadia is passionate about human rights, and is actively involved in a number of charities. Nadia is an avid traveller, and fancies herself as the next Getaway host. Nadia is contactable at nadia_nightonthegreen.com.
Richard Mitry - Online Media Manager
Richard is a young media and entertainment lawyer based in Sydney. Even though most of his time at work is spent arguing with other people, he is strongly passionate about promoting tolerance and anti-discrimination, particularly amongst youth, and has also dedicated much of his time to developing confidence in young people. He is thrilled to be supporting A Night on the Green for Lifehouse at RPA. Richard can be contacted at richard_nightonthegreen.com.
Imogen Moss - Design Manager
Imogen has worked extensively as a graphic designer with the creative industries and within the corporate sector. In 2010 she will complete her Masters of Design at UTS. Imogen developed the logos and brand aesthetic for A Night on the Green and The Cure and the Cause. Imogen is contactable at imogen_nightonthegreen.com for any design enquires.
Sophie Pearson - Event Coordinator
Sophie loves all things entertainment, and is thrilled to be working alongside some of her closest friends for A Night on the Green. Sophie has a background in performing arts and personal training, and is currently is stepping out into the field of childrens' music, film and television. This year, Sophie had her first of children's songs produced and book published. Sophie is honoured to be part of pioneering and hosting such a memorable occasion for Lifehouse at RPA, and knows it is only the start of many great initiatives to come.
Lisa Reedman - Auction Manager
Lisa is a taxation lawyer at a leading Australian law firm. She holds degrees in Economics and Law and has worked in both banking and legal environments. Lisa, a self described 'girly girl', loves fashion and all things pretty. However, her vocation as a corporate lawyer means that she is often spotted prancing around the Sydney CBD in a ‘boring’ black suit - an outfit for which she has an avid distaste. Always the 'mother hen', Lisa is passionate about children and education, having travelled to India to teach English to four to seven year-olds during her university holidays. She would like to one day become a teacher, but finds the thought of leaving tax law difficult to deal with (don't worry, we can't understand this either).
